Transfers

Here are recommended transportations going to the venue. For foreign delegates, please note that personal airport transfers should be arranged directly with your accommodation.

1. NAIA Airport Taxi
The NAIA Airport Taxis are yellow taxis parked outside the airport. The fare from any of the NAIA Airports to Shangri-La at the Fort should be around PHP250.00
(inclusive of PHP70.00 flagdown rate). Please avoid the regular (white) taxis.

2. Grab Car
The average rate of a Grab Car ride from any of the NAIA Airports to Shangri-La at the Fort is between PHP211.00 – PHP255.00.

3. Driving from the Airport
To reach the hotel from any of the NAIA Airports:
– Exit the Airport Road to take the Expressway towards E. de los Santos Avenue (EDSA).
– Continue on to EDSA, then make a slight right onto Kalayaan Avenue.
– Head straight to 32nd Street, then turn left onto 5th Avenue.
– Continue on 5th Avenue. Shangri-La at the Fort is at the entrance of 30th Street corner of 5th Avenue.

Weather –May in the Philippines is known to be one of the warmer months of the year. Visitors are to expect temperatures between 23°C to 32°C (73°F to 90°F). Visitors are encouraged to regularly check local weather forecasts and stay indoors during severe weather warnings.

Currency – The official currency of the Republic of the Philippines is the Philippine Peso (PHP). Retailers in the Philippines in general will not accept other currencies. It is strongly advisable to change foreign currencies into Philippine Peso for purchases. Delegates may opt to change their foreign currencies at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after clearing with immigrations and customs. The average exchange rate is US$ 1 = PH₱ 50.60.

Credit Cards – Most establishments accept Visa and MasterCard. However, only cash payments in Philippine Peso are accepted for public transportation fees and purchases from small retailers and restaurants.

Dining – Information on local restaurants within and near the venue is available at the hotel concierge.

Tipping – Tipping service staff in hotels, restaurants, taxis, and other establishments in the Philippines is not mandatory. However, if you are greatly satisfied with the service rendered to you, it would be highly appreciated to add 10% of the total bill as gratitude.

Electricity and Water Supply – The power supply in the Philippines is 220-240 volts or 60 Hertz. Outlets are mostly allocated for two-prong flat plugs. Please check the voltage requirements of your gadgets and equipment before using the wall socket.
